"Efficient and economical hotel with a friendly staff & great for a short stay."

We used this hotel as a stop over on our way to Oregon from the LA area. Instead of hassling the crowds and paying the exorbitant prices in downtown San Francisco, this hotel proved to be a great alternative. When we checked in we had the option to cart our own bags to our room with a trolley, or use a hotel employee. We parked in the hotel lot, and did not mind the 18 dollar fee since the Intercontinental hotels in San Francisco both charge around 50 dollars for parking! My husband has platinum priority club status, so they offered us coupons for a free buffet breakfast plus another coupon for wine or beer at the bar during happy hour. This gesture was much appreciated! For dinner, we ate at the Kabul restaurant in downtown Burlingame, which turned out to be nicer than anticipated. The hotel is older, and used a lot by airline crews and travelers from all over the world who need a place to sleep before or after their flights. The rooms are comfortable, but not not luxurious. They do NOT contain refrigerators or microwave ovens, which I thought was a definite negative. The flatscreen t.v and coffee machine were alright, as was the older, unrenovated bathroom. The room was extremely clean and comfortable, so much so that we returned to the hotel on our way back to LA. We had not planned on staying a second time, but the hotel proved to be exactly what we needed. If we wanted luxury, we would have stayed at the Mark Hopkins. This time, we just wanted value for our money and a comfortable place to sleep!

"Short but enjoyable stay"

We stayed at the Crowne Plaza after arriving just after midnight into San Francisco. There was a free shuttle from the airport, but the driver was a bit surly with all of us passengers-not very welcoming. Check-in was quick. We had a room on the 10th floor with a king bed that was quite comfortable. One thing that surprised me was that there was no hairdryer. I was thinking this is pretty standard these days, but glad I had my little travel dryer with me.

The shuttle back to the airport runs on a schedule, so make sure you know what that schedule is to avoid a wait.

This is a nice property and I would stay again.

"Best in the Area!"

I've lived in hotels for months at a time over the last four years and this is one of my preferred locations.

I've stayed here in May, June and July 2011 and I'm currently writing the review from my room.

These guys have the best available breakfast (breakfast is free if you're platinum) and the friendliest employees.

*They have the best bacon - hands down for free, thick juicy slices.
*They received packages for me left and right.
*The maintenance guy let me borrow his ratchet set to install a jotto desk in my truck.
*They also let me borrow a screwdriver to install something else.
*Fast Internet

I stay here a lot so they helped me get a room at my regular rate when they were booked full!

**My rating scale for the area
  • Crowne Plaza - San Francisco Airport
  • Mark Hopkins Intercontinental - San Francisco
  • Crowne Plaza - Silicon Valley
  • Holiday Inn Express - Union City
  • Holiday Inn Express South - San Francisco Airport
  • Holiday Inn Express North - San Francisco Airport (Do NOT stay here)

"Great hotel, location, nice stay."

The staff was very friendly and helpful, location excellent, room very nice, clean, and comfortable. We got both room service and food in the restaurant and both were very good, plus there are a lot of really good restaurants nearby. Travel into the city was convenient and not too long, with one switch from airport shuttle to the BART. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to any travelers to the city by the bay.
